Ramon H. Enriquez – A brief past and present.

Ramon H. Enriquez is a retired business executive who now spends his available time sharing his more than 35 years of industry experiences as an Independent Management Consultant for, and a Professorial Lecturer of leading Metro-Manila universities on, the various value-creation and strategy-execution business management topics that he now specializes: Supply-Chains, Operations, Quality, Organizational-Projects, and Decision-support—their system designs and management, in particular. His affiliations with relevant leading global industry associations (APICS, CSCMP, PMI, INFORMS, ASQ, ISM among others) keeps him updated on the current and future developments in these fields.

Ramon obtained his basic education in Mechanical Engineering from the Cebu Institute of Technology (now University), Cebu City, Philippines; and passed the national ME Board examinations in 1975, one-year after graduation. He was recruited right after graduation as a Methods Analyst/ Management Trainee by the erstwhile Paper Industries Corporation of the Philippines (PICOP)—the largest integrated wood-processing company in the Far-east Asia during that era. After establishing four years of relevant work-experience, he pursued post-graduate studies and successfully obtained his Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand—having been awarded full scholarship grant cum two-way ticket and stipend, by the Government of Japan.

His  formal preparation in management started while performing middle-management duties and responsibilities while working with PICOP – Anscor Group where he was seconded to participate in training and seminars conducted by world-class trainers/ consultants from W.D. Scott (Australia) on Work Methods and Measurement; Kepner-Tregoe (USA) on Rational Problem-solving and Decision-making; and Louis Allen’s (USA) Professional Management Program (AMPRO). He had the opportunity of applying what he learned to real business organizations, even reinforcing them further, during his subsequent stints (in various managerial capacities, here and abroad) as a management consultant, staff executive, and as an operating-executive at the EDF Inc., PHINMA Group, and Holcim Group, respectively.

He is a life-long Systems Thinker and Modeler, and an avid micro-Blogger. His hobby includes Digital Photography and Graphic Arts, Singing, Acoustic-guitar Playing, Songwriting, and Audio-recording/ -mixing. When not traveling, he normally spends his time at his Quezon City-home with his wife, Gay; son, Dax; and dog, Brutus.
